LETS TALK ENTERTAINMENT……PART 1
YouTube
The reason why YouTube
is my first go to place for entertainment is because YouTube videos are fairly short,
so you get entertained without needing to dedicate too much time. You can
easily take up a ten minute tea break and catch up on something interesting
from your favourite you tuber without feeling like you’re stealing working
time. These are some of my favourite you tubers hat I actually watch and have
been loving so far…In no particular order of preference…
1.
Green calabash/Yummy Mummy – FAMILY& LIFESTYLE
If you’re into Family and lifestyle type of videos these
channels are definitely for you. The videos are basically about everyday life
at home with kids. You might pick few tips and tricks along the way.
2. Wodemaya/Miss
Trudy –TRAVEL VLOGS
If you’re feeling patriotic about
promoting the image of Africa to the outside world…this is the channel for you…..I
would advise that you start from older videos though, because the interesting
thing about these two channels is low-key their YouTube Journey and love story between
miss Trudy and Maya.
You might also want toc check out TayoAinaFilms….not exactly purely travel but definitely binge worthy if your curious about West Africa,
real estate content and a bit of lifestyle
content….a safe choice if you don’t know what to recommend to a guy (I feel
like girls are way more diverse )
3. Best Ever
food / Mark Wiens-FOOD REVIEW SHOWS
Both of these are really popular food travel channels
but each is unique because of the host’s personalities. Sonny Side of Best ever food has a
charming personality and good…almost witty sense of humour while Mark Wiens is extremely passionate
about food you can almost taste it from watching him eat….ok that’s me…one
thing that’s for sure though is that you can never get bored of these two….and you
can definitely recommend both to anyone, anytime, anywhere….
4. ‘His teaness’
Edgar Obare-TEA
If you are the type of person that is privy to the
latest gossip in town and you want to stay updated, this is the guy to look out
for. Edgar Obare will serve your tea hot with extra spice…..plus he’s cute too
so….you’ll always have something nice to look at lol….
You might want to check him out more on Instagram stories though….he brews more tea on those
sides…….While at it…also check out Mkamburi
Chigogo….not the hottest tea but her exceptional presentation skills and bold
personality and consistency definitely makes up for it
5. Craving
yellow/ Girl and the world-LIFESTYLE
Both hosts on these shows are women. Other women in their twenties and early
thirties can definitely relate to them on matters life…and ‘beautiful spaces’
both literally and figuratively. They are about creating beautiful living spaces
and making the most of the women they are…and continue to be. Girl and the
world videos have a ‘Zen’ touch to them and you might want to make it the last video
you watch before you go to bed. Craving yellow on the other hand is more on the
bubbly but mature side of things…a girl in her early twenties might get big sis
vibes…basically just has a yellow mood to it…if that makes sense lol
6. Omabelletv/Joanna
Kinuthia/Rosina Sharon/ Wabosha Maxine-MAKE UP
Of all things….I probably watch make up tutorials most
and I have limitless recommendations but these stand out for me for different
reasons.
Omabelle is a Nigerian You tuber living somewhere in the ‘Ups ‘(majuu
lol). She has a very inviting
personality and is very good in what she does. If you have a problematic skin
and you are into make-up as well she is the best one to look out for. She is
all about skills, tools and products…..definitely worth your time.
Joanna
Kinuthia on the other hand is a Kenyan
you tuber that started out small but is now making waves in the beauty industry
in Kenya. She has her own make up line that currently sells eyeshadow, lipstick
and eye lashes. You might want to check her out for both skin care regimen and
make up videos. Her old make up tutorial videos are really good for beginners.
Rosina
Sharon is a lot new in the YouTube
streets, she has not been around for a very long time but her subscribers have
grown exponentially in only a few months. I have watched very few of her
tutorials but the fact she has attracted a large audience within a short period
says something positive about her content. From what I have watched, her
content is 99 percent make up tutorials…really good for beginners…especially if
you are looking for ‘make up on a budget’.
You might also want to check out Wabosha Maxine. She does make up and other random but interesting stuff….wouldn’t’
necessarily go to her for make-up tutorials though…but you should definitely check
her out….she just has a sweet vibe you might like….she is likeable. Yea, likeable
is the word lol.
7. Robeson
Design/TopBilling South Africa-INTERIOR DESIGN ARCHITECTURE
If
you love beautiful spaces and you’re into top notch interior design shows,
these are for you. Top Billing will
get you low-key asking yourself why on earth you didn’t pursue architecture or interior
design…the kick to these shows is that you don’t just see beautiful spaces…you get to experience it…..these
shows might make you have a whole career transformation…don’t say I didn’t warn
you….
8. Jordan
Peterson-LIFE TEACHINGS
This is a kind of a ‘saving the best for last’ moment
here. Jordan Peterson is a clinical psychologist that you have to watch. I
cannot say anything about him without totally watering down the person that he
is. Watch him and decide if you like him or not…..you’ll probably like him.
This is necessary info, thanks, good work
